Best way to move water

I am currently designing my first aquaponics tank. It is more of a proof of concept than anything. The tank will be made out of a 5 gallon bucket, and the grow bed will probably be made out of 2″ pvc pipe cut in half. I am wondering what would be the easiest and most cost effective way to raise the water up to go through the grow bed, and any other tips that you guys would have for me.
