The mint and other plants were infested with spidermites. And as i have crayfish in the system i didn't want to use pesticides so i got predatory mites for christmas! It's cold now but as soon as it gets warmer the mites will become active and go feast on the pests.
on a sidenote: my broccoli that still looked like this in november now looks like this. Is there still nutrient uptake going on now during winter (i almost entirely stopped feeding) or is the plant using energy stored in it's leaves to produce the (tiny) flowerhead?
Got some snow last night but the system still hasn't shown signs of freezing. I figure the wood gives enough insulation to the fishtank (for now).
